Zijing Xia（Bagegoo) is an interdisciplinary artist born in China in 1997. She graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2023 and currently resides in London.
Zijing's artistic practice revolves around depicting the trivialities centered on the non-human, exploring how these seemingly minor concerns intricately intertwine with one's inner self. Through the gentle imagery of animals and plants, she explores themes such as separation, growth, and East Asian anxieties, enveloping them with a sense of cuteness and nostalgia.
Her primary focus lies in drawing, while also extending her reach into mediums such as ceramics, soft sculpture, and performance art. Currently, she is delving into her concepts by using the grammar of comics, researching how to convey poetic and emotional elements through non-linear image narration.
